Your Heroes

might be closer than you think!

Africans and Africa diaspora communities are often misrepresented and underrepresented in social, cultural and economic leadership positions. This foments stereotypes about these communities. It also limits the ambitions of African and its diaspora communities, making them feel that certain opportunities are out of reach. Due to the lack of positive visibility of these groups, efforts to empower and utilize the full potential of these communities too often fall short.

We need everyone to feel like they have “skin in the game”; that they need to, and are expected to, contribute to society’s development. For this reason, Rootencial creates a space to recognise that many of these people already contribute and succeed, so that younger generations can identify themselves in today’s leaders. We amplify the voices and stories of these leaders to a wider audience through an online platform, to celebrate and recognise the talent of these communities.
